Australian sculptor Ron Mueck’s works are mind-boggling. His pieces look so real and he often will make the twist be the size of the people he sculpts, from oversized to undersized.
He is a former model maker in the film industry and the advertising industry. He moved over to fine art in 1996 and has been astounding museum goers since. For example, the little old ladies are little. But most are oversized and hyper-realistic. I couldn’t find a website for him, but two websites that offer great views of this artist’s work are 24 Flinching (which has some other great artists as well) and Brooklyn Museum.
